Return to the Father

The world tells us that we have evolved beyond God.

It tells us that we are enlightened now. That we can determine right and wrong for ourselves. That we can create our own truth. That we can build our own tower and make a name for ourselves.

It is the same lie that has been told from the beginning.

The story of Babel was never really about a tower. It was about mankind deciding that it no longer needed God. It was about people coming together under the illusion that they could create a world according to their own wisdom, their own desires, and their own ideas of good and evil.

Nothing has changed.

Modern man is still building Babel.

We build identities. We build tribes. We build political movements. We build ideologies. We build social acceptance. We build careers. We build status. We build followers.

And all the while we drift further and further from the Father.

The fall of mankind was not merely a fall into sin. It was a fall into ego.

It was a fall into identification.

A fall into fear.

A fall into anger.

A fall into pride.

The ego is the part of us that wants to be right. It wants recognition. It wants power. It wants approval. It wants to belong to a group so it can feel important. It wants to judge others while excusing itself.

It is the voice that says:

"Look at me."

"Follow me."

"Trust me."

"I know what is best."

But it never does.

Because man cannot determine good and evil for himself.

Every generation proves this.

We call things good because they sound compassionate.

We call things good because they feel loving.

We call things good because they make us feel better in the moment.

But feelings are not truth.

Many of the things that make us happy today destroy us tomorrow.

A man chooses a beautiful woman because she satisfies his desires. Later she destroys his peace, empties his bank account, turns his children against him, and leaves him broken.

The pleasure was real.

The consequences were real too.

The same is true for nearly every temptation.

The thing that promises freedom often becomes the thing that enslaves us.

Darkness understands this.

Evil never presents itself as evil.

Darkness does not arrive wearing horns and carrying a pitchfork.

It arrives wrapped in bright paper.

It sounds compassionate.

It sounds reasonable.

It sounds loving.

It sounds tolerant.

It sounds progressive.

It sounds modern.

And because it sounds good, people accept it.

The devil does not need you to worship evil.

He only needs you to call evil good.

How many people today proudly say:

"Live your best life."

"Do what makes you happy."

"Follow your heart."

Yet the same hearts people are told to follow are filled with fear, anger, resentment, lust, pride, envy, and selfishness.

Why would we follow that?

Why would we trust the very thing that repeatedly leads us into suffering?

The answer is because we have become separated from God.

And the further we move from God, the more we identify with ourselves.

With our emotions.

With our thoughts.

With our race.

With our politics.

With our nationality.

With our social groups.

With our desires.

With our opinions.

With everything except the Father.

And this separation is producing exactly what we see in the world today:

Division.

Confusion.

Hatred.

Chaos.

People no longer know what is good because they have abandoned the source of goodness itself.

The answer is not more politics.

The answer is not more activism.

The answer is not another movement.

The answer is not another tribe.

The answer is a return to the Father.

But understand what that means.

A return to God is not performance.

It is not theater.

It is not standing in a church pretending to be holy.

It is not saying all the right religious words.

It is not splashing around in water and then returning to the exact same life.

The ego loves religious performance because it allows a person to feel righteous without changing.

Real repentance is different.

Real repentance begins when all eyes turn inward.

Not toward your neighbor.

Not toward society.

Not toward politicians.

Not toward your spouse.

Not toward your enemies.

Toward yourself.

Toward the darkness within.

Toward the anger.

Toward the pride.

Toward the fear.

Toward the resentment.

Toward the selfishness.

Toward the hell that exists inside every human being.

Because what is brought into the light can be transformed.

What remains hidden continues to rule.

The Kingdom of God is not found by conquering the world.

It is found by becoming aware of what is happening within you and surrendering it to the Father.

The world says, "Look out there."

God says, "Look within."

The world says, "Change everyone else."

God says, "Repent."

The world says, "Follow your heart."

God says, "Follow Me."

Mankind does not need a new tower.

Mankind does not need a new ideology.

Mankind does not need a new identity.

Mankind needs to return to the Father.

And that return begins when all eyes are on you.
